You seem to downplay the effect this US ban might have in other countries. Many TikTok trends seem to come from America, and there are a lot of great US-based creators. If this source of content is suddenly cut off, TikTok might have trouble with their engagement metrics in other countries as well.

I agree about the enshittification of social media services. Would be very interested in hearing your take on how Discord is trying to monetize without ads. I see it as an alternate path where the basic functionality is all there for free, but you get *cool* extra perks for subscribing.

You tend to minimize the impact that this prohibition enacted by the United States may have in other countries. There are a lot of fantastic creators who are situated in the United States, and it seems that many of the trends on TikTok originated in the country. https://slope-game.io
