“The coolest thing they’ve done are the virtual gifts. I know someone who recently bought the Tumblr Horse Friend. The way it works is you send it to another user, the virtual horse walks around their dashboard for 24 hours pooping everywhere and then, ultimately, dies. Perfect. No notes.”
The NeXT operating system wrote to the screen using PostScript, and the NeXT Mail.app (precursor to OS X & macOS Mail.app) used to automatically display any PostScript attachments.
This meant you could embed commands that affected the entire display with what we lovingly called a “PostScript mail bomb”. Like a virtual spray of machine gun bullets through your screen. Or cockroaches, everywhere. Or your screen just...melting away.
Thought of this immediately. What a missed marketing opportunity for a fundamental OS vulnerability!
“just put my staff on an unpaid leave amid a writers strike, I simply wouldn’t make an account on a social network populated almost entirely by leftist shitposters”
> The way I see it, the jaw-dropping speed of generative AI’s embrace is essentially a large-scale acknowledgement that modern life is sort of miserable and that most people don’t actually care if anything works anymore.
The AI demands more habanero salsa
I think I got cancer reading that 4Chan screen cap
My physics and mathematics degrees are worthless in the face of that awesomeness

That TX2 song feels like the anthem for dudes who 10 years from now will say shit like "I used to feminists but now I want a housewife"
Noped out around the 10-second mark for both Aryia and TX2, so yeah. You win this round, Ryan.

Just amazing. I laughed very hard 😂
20 years is a long estimation for the British people post, I reckon it’d take us about 4 days lol
In the UK nothing properly already, so we’re well prepared for AI to take over every part of life 💪🏼
I'll take your word for it and pass on the music but all for the habanero.
The Arya and TX2 songs sound indistinguishable from stuff I heard 20 years ago.

Welcome to Costco. I love you.
Eight seconds. Only because I couldn't hear the first three.
Thanks for the heads-up on the Barker; looks like they got her pulled off the Belle Isle shore, inspected, and may be on her way again.
Sudden power loss bruited as the cause of the grounding.
