i spent quite a lot of time a couple nights ago reading about the whole olivia wilde mess and it was That Thing That Happens where you have all these tabs open but now i'm like...but how did i open them in the first place? what got me there? i have no idea. (did you mention it previously? we may never know.) anyway, somebody on instagram whose @ i of course cannot remember and who usually posts weird comparisons of celeb photos apparently? had a whole highlight on it. and the one big takeaway for me is that apparently wilde is bringing up all this supposed female orgasm/sex positive type stuff in interviews time and again? while the movie is actually about an abusive relationship? and so the takeaway was that it's weird as hell to be bragging about "good sex" when you're talking about assault. now, of course, i haven't seen the movie and i suppose there's room for sex before and/or outside of the abusive relationship but...yeah. the overarching theme was "ok her relationship(s) are a mess and she lied about some stuff but let's talk about the big picture which is she appears to only care about feminism when it isn't getting in the way of her making a movie."

anyway that goat video and everyone thinking it's real and even when they know it's not real saying essentially "but still" bc they think it's a real goat who really got hurt in some other video is...lol.

also wow who knew the fuckjerry guy was raking in millions, not me. surprised to not see amouranth on that list as she makes a TON of money but i guess forbes doesn't want to be talking about sex work or sex work adjacent type stuff maybe? also if i was addison rae i would be pissed they used that photo...she's like [googles] 21? and the makeup on her face makes her look twice that for no reason.

The Gougar edits strike me as similar to the angery as fucc creature, which was originally a blurry picture of a cat.

Maybe that context has emboldened the process of inventing a new sort of meme cryptid.

The point about nationalizing cloudflare is weird. E.g. pg&e are a private company despite regularly burning down large parts of California, they're just regulated (kinda badly). I think Prince has a point - the things that take these sites offline are illegal but in a way that really isnt enforceable, and no site has any reasonable redress against that, so for any controversial site a CDN is pretty key. I don't know what the solution is here, but I don't think it's an open and shut thing that "complaining loudly enough to cloudflare" should be the defining standard.

Florence doesn’t have “massive stan army” those stans are actually some of Harry’s stans who against him dating Olivia so they sided with Florence, using her as a weapon to throw hate to Olivia. They will sided with anyone who have issues with Olivia

It's weird how horny conservatives are for Hunter Biden. They've practically turned him into a sex symbol at this point.

I thought the line about how Hollywood was just noticing these online communities and doesn't know how to generate free buzz via them was fairly apt... UNLESS this whole "thing" with Dont worry darling is all just a put on. As someone who has watched A LOT of wrestling it wouldn't shock me if this is just a 'work' with various actors somewhat aware of their online followings enough to leverage some drama into free publicity. And the amazing thing is even if it is real and the film does well, you're gonna see more studios try this crap to promote their junk films.

Your last point on the content creator section seems spot on. Digital celebs operate in a much more organic form of celebrity than most other celebs, they're sort of like famous comic book artists or Sue Grafton. These guys build their followings developing their craft with very little guidance or outside support, where as the potential "other" celebs have more structural supports. Anyone I see on TV i assume will be forever employed in some fashion, whereas the guy doing pokemon unboxings you fear might have to give that up to get a real job.

Love the death metal content! definitely gonna check out the minecraft link.
