Me, to a friend, outside the bar where a hardcore show is happening: "Well, actually, I think there's pretty subtle line between screamo and crust punk, if you…"

Guy walking by who's overheard the conversation (to his friend): "They lack absolutely no concrete sense of self, so they have to categorize every aspect of existence and assign imaginary labels to define who they are."

Worth mentioning that the venue holding Taylor Swift's show didn't have water bottles - only room temperature 200ml water cups being sold for R$8 (USD 1.60 more or less) and they also forbade street vendors from getting in/selling any type of drinks in the vinicity, so the water cups were the only option available at all.

I'm chronically online and used to be in top of most of the big stuff happening across the internet until covid. Now, I'm having to read newsletters to get that and I find that scary.

I was at the small Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport in Broomfield, Colorado last week waiting for a flight, and was surprised to see a group of what turned out to be Civil Air Patrol Cadets (basically like Air Force ROTC) doing some sort of training there. At one point, I was amused to see that they were showing the cadets one of the scenes between Bruce Wayne and Ra’s Al Ghul from Batman Begins. Not exactly cosplay, but feels like the same neighborhood.

If Taylor Swift can take on Live Nation, she can 100% take on their Brazilian equivalent. If Live Nation had done this in the United States she certainly would have!

I have been trying to talk about this for months, and how AI generated content is a threat to the these communities/network structures online. People who want to spread misinformation will be targeting swifites of moderate social reach to take credentials and usurp the platform. Multiple swifties were targeted over the summer to use their reach to sell fake tickets.

It is beyond disappointing how Taylor and her team decided to handle the events of the last few days in Brazil, after we welcomed her with such warmth and passion. Ana still wasn't properly acknowledged even though she lost her life trying to make her dream to see Taylor come true. The fact that they wanna pull themselves away from the situation so it doesn't affect Taylor's image is just the most insensitive thing I've ever seen.

Taylor Swift, the human being, is totally not to blame. But that's only because Taylor Swift, the human being, no longer exists. On the other hand, Taylor Swift, the brand who consumed the human being, is totally to blame because each node in the Swiftie network connects to the same hive mind. You can't really disconnect the node that got up to sing for a boiling audience from the one that crammed them inside to begin with.

I wonder whether Bitcoin is long or short on Milei, given his previous support for dollarizing Argentina (rather than leaning into Bitcoin).

Anyway if he starts flagging in the polls he can always try invading the Falklands again.
